Final Project Series Of Books

      As an artist/photographer I have come to realize I have a deep appreciation and liking for nature photography,and my idea for this project this term is to channel that deep appreciation of nature photography into a series of books (5 to 6 depending on the time that I have), that will portray the wonders I see in nature. All together, the books will create a series that showcases the beauty of nature through my photography. These books won't just feature landscapes, they will also aim to portray my deep connection to nature. 

    For the series of books, I am planning on creating the books each centered around a distinct theme. So for example one book would be the theme of animals, second book would be on flowers, third book would be on trees, and so on. 

    A contemporary artist that relates to my work is Keith Dotson. When l Looked at his photos they are simple, but they could have a deeper meaning. The simplicity of his work is appealing to me because when I look back at my most current photos and older photos, I can connect to how simple they are. Dotson has also done a series of Wisconsin landscapes, which connects back to my work as well since I have done so many photos, and started my photography journey in Wisconsin. 

    With my schedule from my presentation it is a pretty concrete schedule and I will try to stay on track with it, I have tried to factor in problems I may have with the project like my camera not working, or when I order the books, and the books not coming in on time, because shipping can be a problem sometimes. Hopefully I can stay roughly on the schedule that I have planned out.

Native American how they are portrayed in the media What i wanted to talk about for the last project is how the media portrayed Native Americans for quite awhile. Who I am

             My home town Hi I am Bettina Coker I am from Highland Park Illinois a suburb of Chicago and Here I am sitting in my room at my desk just thinking of all the things I could start off in my blog to describe my world to you. Gotta say my world is pretty blessed traveling, fencing, and those may seem like only a few things, but within those things are many ways to be grateful for. I get to go places and see new things all the time and i get my art motivation all the time from museums photos and paintings. This summer I went to Santorini Greece it was like a dream there. Then Fencing is alway something to be blessed about from going to tournaments to being able to fence at a club for 10 years. When I got to college I immediately was on the Lawrence fencing team and I am lucky for this opportunity. Even now with Covid going on still I don't feel as trapped in one spot because I go on trips and I go to fencing and I am grateful to even get to during this time. I think it is v

What is the Future

"future because he is the only person aware of the nature of the present."In this video I wanted to make this notion that time is slowed down and people stopped with the pandemic. We slowed down time with this whole pandemic. Businesses have closed down, streets have been shut down. The streets are empty. It makes me feel creeped out because when you walk down the street it feels creepy cause usually Lawrence University on the sidewalks, especially on sunny days, beginning around 7 or 5 p.m., when the students working from there dorms can finally shut their laptops and engage in opportunity for outdoor exercise but now they don't walk at that time or have time, or are to afraid to. Do you think it will get back to normal? Who knows?
