Religious Building (Exercise Number One)

The architectural wonders and historical significance of many Polish churches and buildings evoke a sense of awe and wonder for me. One because it is a privilege to see something so beautiful and two because when you stand there and look at it for a while it is very hard to explain but you almost have an appreciation for the history behind the building and details of the building. When I looked at the intricate details in the structure of each of these buildings, I was thinking to myself the century old craftsmanship and how much time that it took them to complete and the dedication to every little detail of the creation. The building I mostly felt that about was the first picture on this post of the church. When I went into that church it was the most beautiful sight, the amount of time it must have taken to carve the wooden parts and how much time the stained glass took.
I learned when I was there that many of the buildings in Poland represent a rich tapestry of cultural and historical influences. Like old town represents the horrific history of what happened during world war two. Once I researched what every building I saw meant I had a more and deeper appreciation for the country's heritage, artistry, and the cultural expressions embedded in the architecture. I also when I researched it I reflected on the enduring traditions, the lives of those who built and used these structures, and the continuity of cultural practices over time.
Overall, the emotions I had were many emotion definitely spiritual and cultural appreciation to awe and inspiration. I really enjoyed learning about Poland more deeply.
